Just days prior to the unveiling of these plans, the Hoss’s restaurant had closed its doors and was listed for sale after operating for about 20 years.

“We would like to thank the wonderful community for supporting us for so long, it was truly our pleasure to serve you. We also thank our many Hossome employees throughout the years who graciously provided our guests with HOSS’pitality and quality meals.” Billie Jo Walls, President Hoss’s Steak and Sea House previously said.”

Earlier this week during a Swatara Township Board of Commissioners meeting , the land development plans for the new Wawa location received unanimous approval.

According to land development plans, the new Wawa will be 5,585 square feet in size and is going to have about 57 available parking spaces. The new location would also boast 12 fueling stations for customers to utilize.

It is still unknown when the new Wawa will open its doors.

Once open, this Swatara Township Wawa location would become the second to open its doors in Dauphin County. Back in September, Wawa officially unveiled its first-ever Dauphin County store at 1601 West Harrisburg Pike in Middletown.

According to Wawa, to build each store the company invests about $7 million, and they employ on average 140 contractors and local partners. Each store employs an average of 35 associates; altogether Wawa expects to create 1,400 long term jobs with its Central Pa. expansion.
