DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A delivery driver for a Dauphin County business was charged after police say he tried to lure a girl into his vehicle.

Swatara Township Police said in the charges filed that Nestor Monsalve-Prieto , 23, of Harrisburg, tried to get a 12-year-old girl into his car while making a delivery on Thursday, Oct. 3.

According to the criminal complaint, police got a report about a man who tried to lure a girl into his car just after 3:30 p.m. by Brisban and Kelso Streets in Paxtang Borough. After speaking with the girl and a witness who the girl flagged down, police were able to get a description of the suspect, who spoke Spanish, and the direction the vehicle traveled.

Monsalve-Prieto allegedly said to the girl that he needed to tell her something, and when she got closer, police were told he said she needed to get in his vehicle, the charges show.

Police were led to a business where surveillance video captured a silver Honda Accord running a stop sign, and eventually found a vehicle, that matched the suspect’s vehicle, in front of a different business in the 2400 block of Derry Street. According to the complaint, when police asked the owner whose vehicle it was, they said it was Monsalve-Prieto’s, an employee.

The business was not named in the charging documents.

Monsalve-Prieto admitted that was his vehicle and he said hi to the girl, but denied saying anything else. When asked if he usually says hello to people, he said no just her because he thought she was pretty, police said.

Later on, Monsalve-Prieto would admit that he did tell the girl to come here, but still denied telling her to get in, the charges show.

When Monsalve-Prieto gave police an account of where he was driving, police said his story didn’t add up. When he talked about making a delivery, he changed the directions he was going, and he claimed that his sister-in-law called him about needing a key, but there was no proof she contacted him, according to the complaint.

I'm really wish and I think that young girls and boys need to learn self defense I think that would build their confidence and I think they would know what to do in a situation like this they have more confidence and what to do. they have self-defense classes there's karate classes Tai Chi whatever but nowadays there is way too many of our children disappearing and being trafficked at the border and it's about time that we start teaching those children how to defend themself and not with a gun or a knife either with your hands and your feet and then screaming as loud as you can
