HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — If you think you have what it takes to be a state trooper, the Pennsylvania State Police is hosting a Women’s Career Expo soon.

It’ll be held at the academy in Hershey on Oct. 19 and women interested in law enforcement are invited to attend.

Those who do will take part in some of the physical activities required of cadets and talk to some of the women in class now.

“We’re going to highlight are specialized positions,” Lt. Dawn Carpenter, PSP Recruitment Services section commander, said. “They’re going to have an opportunity to see our K-9 unit, our mounted unit, our forensics unit. So they’re going to have a vast variety here that day.”

There are five female cadets in the current class and 20 are enrolled for the next class.
