YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A man allegedly shot a crossbow on purpose at another man’s home in York County on Tuesday because of personal issues between the two.

Dennis Brown, 29, is accused of shooting an arrow that went through a wall of a home, along Cassel Road, and assaulting the homeowner when he was confronted, according to charging documents from Newberry Township Police.

If the man had been sitting on the toilet, he would have been impaled in the head by the arrow, causing his death, police made note of in the charges. After being shot, the crossbow traveled through the outside wall and got stuck into the bathroom wall.

When Brown was questioned by police at the scene, he allegedly admitted to shooting the crossbow and punching the man, police said in the charges.

Police said they were able to get surveillance video that showed Brown loading the crossbow while walking through lots. Eventually, a crossbow can be heard being fired, and Brown is seen walking back with it in his hand.

The arrow caused over $500 worth of damages to the home, police noted.

Brown faces a felony charge of aggravated assault, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of instrument of crime with intent, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and criminal mischief. He also faces a summary charge of harassment.

He is currently locked up in York County Prison with bail set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 29.
