    York County driver charged after woman riding scooter injured in hit-and-run

    YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Police have arrested a man who hospitalized a woman in a hit-and-run in August, according to the West Manchester Township Police Department.

    Police say on Aug. 25, Gary Beaverson, 40, allegedly hit a woman riding an electric scooter in the 1200 block of Carlisle Road and fled the scene . Police arrived on the scene and found the woman lying conscious in the middle of the road.

    Police said they found the scooter 1.5 miles from the scene.

    Beaverson was arrested on Oct. 16 and was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, DUI, driving while driving privilege is suspended, and other related charges.

    Beaverson is being held in the York County Prison on $75,000 bail.
