Massive silo engulfed in flames overnight in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Multiple fire crews responded to a second alarm silo fire in Lancaster County late Thursday night.

According to pictures posted to Fire Department Mount Joy on Facebook , the massive silo on Route 441 in East Donegal Township was completely engulfed in flames.

Another responding crew, Hempfield Fire Department , says their engine alone supplied nearly 100,00 gallons of water to the scene via tankers.

The Mount Joy, Hempfield, Rheems, and Elizabethtown Fire Department were among the departments who assisted the Maytown-East Donegal Township Fire Department in controlling the blaze.

It’s unclear if there were any injuries from the incident, and the condition of the silo is unknown.
