LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster County woman is accused of driving at a high rate of speed just before crashing into another vehicle, killing a father and daughter in December, court documents show.

Beth Fife, 51, of East Earl, faces homicide by vehicle and other charges stemming from the double fatal crash on West 28th Division Highway (SR322) in Penn Township on Dec. 1 , Northern Lancaster County Regional Police said in a criminal complaint.

The two people killed in the crash were 84-year-old Allen English and his daughter Grace English-Rohrer. They were trapped inside their vehicle that caught fire and could not get out.

According to the complaint, just seconds before the crash, Fife was traveling at a rate of 93mph in her 2019 Infiniti and lost control. The complaint notes that the road has a posted 55mph speed limit.

Witnesses reported to police Fife had allegedly passed multiple vehicles and even swerved for a dead deer on the side of the road before she crashed.

“The driving actions of Beth Fife were determined to be the primary cause of the collision,” the complaint states. “Specifically, regarding driving actions.”

Fife also faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving.

A preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.
