HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Billionaire and CEO Elon Musk was in the Midstate rallying for Donald Trump in front of hundreds of voters yesterday.

Musk made his campaign trail run through Harrisburg, and during yesterday’s town hall, he focused on free speech and voter registration.

“I think actually Pennsylvania is, really it’s the lynchpin in this election,” Musk said during his rally. “How Pennsylvania goes, I think, is how the election goes.”

Musk focused on the AmericaPAC petitions supporting the First and Second Amendments, eligible to be signed by registered voters in one of 8 battleground states, including Pennsylvania, and also had a big surprise for lucky rally-goers in the Midstate.

“Every day between now and the election will be awarding a million dollars, starting tonight,” Musk said.

The first winner was John Dreyer, of Mechanicsburg. Then Musk fielded dozens of questions for over 2 hours from the audience focused on what he calls his “core values.”

“Safe cities, secure borders, sensible spending,” Musk said. “To protect the Constitution, especially the right to free speech. These are all things that seem very obvious and frankly normal and they’re in severe danger if the ‘Kamala-machine’ wins.”

Although Musk is not an elected official, he has suggested cuts to government spending through a proposed Department of Government Efficiency, which he discussed live on X with former President Donald Trump.

“The opportunity to reduce government waste is actually, I think, easy because there’s so much of it. It’s that they just don’t care about your money, which is messed up.”

Musk’s appearance in Harrisburg is part of his support for Trump, who he publicly endorsed on July 13.

“Make sure everyone knows the deadline for registration is Monday, midnight Monday. You can register online, it’s super easy.”

Democratic leaders in the Midstate, including State Rep. Justin Fleming, oppose Musk’s endorsement of Trump.

“We’ve seen over and over the people will cozy up to Donald Trump to get what they want,” Rep. Fleming said. “That includes billionaires, that includes dictators, and it’s no surprise that Elon Musk is here for Donald Trump. They’re billionaires who have no idea how to shop for groceries, drive their own cars, or do anything that regular, average Pennsylvanians do, and by extension, they won’t have an agenda that regular, average Pennsylvanians can go along with.”

Musk was in Philadelphia on Friday, in Harrisburg on Saturday, and now heads to Pittsburgh on Sunday for his third and final town hall.
