    Police identify suspect in hit-and-run that hospitalized 75-year-old in Lancaster County

    LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Police identified the driver who struck an elderly woman with their vehicle and fled the scene on Monday morning.

    “We have located the vehicle and have identified a suspect. There is still much investigation to be done. We will be releasing further details when the timing is more appropriate,” The Manheim Township Police Department announced in a release.

    Police say that tips from community members were a key contributor in identifying the suspect.

    According to Manheim Township Police, officers responded to 100 Block River Drive in Lancaster Township for a reported hit-and-run.

    Police say officers found a 75-year-old woman lying on the side of the road when they arrived. She was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

    Witnesses say they heard the impact and watched as a dark-colored sedan fled southbound after striking the woman, per the police. Damage is suspected to be on the front of the vehicle.

    Manheim Township Police is asking the community to help locate the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information should contact 717-569-6401.
