Man dies after being attacked by dog in Fresno County, deputies say
A man has died after being attacked by a dog in Fresno County early Thursday morning.Deputies got a call of a man suffering from several dog bites just before 5 am.The man was found by an orchard on Peach near North Avenue. He told authorities he thought it was a coyote that attacked him.He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.The dog has not been found at this time.The man has not been identified.
Sam's Club gas station now open in north Fresno
There's a new place to fill up your tank in north Fresno.The Sam's Club gas station on Blackstone near Nees is now open.Action News was there as the final touches were made for the Fuel Center.The gas station features 16 pumps.According to the club's site, regular unleaded gas will cost you around $3.87 per gallon.That's about 80 cents cheaper than Fresno's current average, according to AAA.
Visalia man sentenced for deadly 2018 crash
A Visalia man will be behind bars for decades after being found guilty in a deadly 2018 crash.30-year-old David Edma received his life sentence Wednesday in the Tulare County Superior Court.Earlier this year, Edma was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder with special allegations and felony DUI.On June 15, 2018, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a head-on crash on Highway 63 just south of Avenue 392, near Cutler.A pregnant mother and her child later died at the hospital.Edma was removed from his car and was found to be driving under the influence after previously being convicted of a prior DUI offense.Officials say Edma must serve 30 years in custody before receiving parole consideration.
Woman assaulted by suspect accused of posing as a rideshare driver shares her story

Program offering financial help for repairing AC systems in vehicles
With the sizzling temperatures right now, your car's air conditioning system may need some work.The Car Care Council recently introduced a new program for much of the Central Valley.The program, which is currently in soft launch, aims to offer financial assistance for repairing faulty or leaking AC systems in cars and light-duty trucks.The rebate initiative covers 80% of repair costs up to $1,875.Diagnostic fees are also fully covered if you move forward with eligible repairs.Experts say leaking AC systems not only make your drive uncomfortable, but also contributes to poor air quality and an increase in asthma rates.The program is available to residents in Fresno, Merced, Madera, Visalia and Hanford.The nonprofit group is expected to release more information about the program for the general public launch on July 18th.For more information and to see if you pre-qualify, click here.
At least $25k worth of fireworks stolen from Sanger High wrestling stand
The Sanger High wrestling team is asking for community support after at least $25,000 worth of fireworks were stolen from their stand.The wrestling team took to Facebook to say they made the discovery Wednesday morning at their stand near Highway 180 and Academy.Busting the lock to their shipping container, roughly $25,000 to $35,000 worth of fireworks were taken.A police report was filed, and Sanger police are now searching for the suspects. The police did not provide any suspect information.The firework stand will remain open and the wrestling team is now hoping to make up the losses.

Teen dies, another hospitalized after being pulled from pool at Fresno home, officials say
A teenager has died and another is hospitalized after they were pulled from a pool in the backyard of a home in east central Fresno on Wednesday afternoon.The incident happened around 2 pm at a home near Purdue and Ramona avenues.The Fresno Fire Department says two girls, ages 14 and 12, were taken to a local hospital.The 12-year-old is in critical condition but the 14-year-old did not survive.Officials have not yet shared any other details about the teens or how they ended up in the water.Stay with ABC30 for the latest details on this developing story.
