Man found guilty of 2021 northeast Fresno murder
The man accused in a Fresno murder, armed robbery and carjacking has been found guilty.On Monday, a jury convicted 45-year-old David Hernandez on five counts.Hernandez shot and killed Sarah Hamm in her northeast Fresno apartment in August of 2021.Investigators say the two knew each other.He also robbed a store clerk at gunpoint and stole a car on the same day.A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Evacuation orders and warnings in place as fires burn in Fresno County

Deputies searching for car in connection to deadly shooting at Halloween party in Fresno County

Thousands left without power as thunderstorms roll through Central California
Thousands of people across Central California have been left without power after thunderstorms moved through the region on Monday.According to PG&E's outage map, around 2,000 homes and businesses in Fowler were impacted.Outages also impacted over 1,300 customers in the Tollhouse area, and more than 2,600 in Yosemite Lakes.Earlier in the day, an outage in Sanger had knocked out the power for 5,366 customers. Crews have since restored power for the majority of customers in Sanger.In the South Valley, around 1,000 customers experienced outages near Orange Cove and Reedley.PG&E says the majority of the outages were caused by lightning.Crews are working to safely get the power back on for all customers as lightning continues in some areas.You can view the latest PG&E outages by clicking here.

Old Town Clovis storefront damaged by car crash, police say
Both drivers are okay after a crash that sent one car into the front of an Old Town Clovis storefront.It happened just after 7 am Monday on Pollasky at 5th Street.Clovis police say one car was headed northbound on Pollasky and the other was eastbound on 5th, when that driver ran the stop sign and hit the other car.The impact of the collision caused one to hit the business on the northeast corner.It's currently empty but had previously been Madeleine's Bridal Shop.Officers say there were no drugs or alcohol involved in the crash, and no one was arrested.

House fire in Yosemite Lakes spreads to vehicles and vegetation, officials say
Firefighters are working to figure out what sparked flames at a home in Yosemite Lakes that also spread to vehicles and vegetation.Crews from the Madera-Mariposa-Merced unit were first called out around 12:30 am Monday to a home on Corral Drive and Kings Canyon Court, near Coarsegold.They arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, along with several vehicles.Less than an acre of brush also burned in the blaze.PG&E was called out to shut off the power and deal with downed power lines.Crews were able to get the fire under control and will be working to put out any hot spots.The residents who lived in the home escaped the fire safely, but will now need to find a new place to live.
