Founders of failed Bitwise Industries pleading guilty to wire fraud
The founders of Fresno's failed Bitwise Industries will each plead guilty to wire fraud.EDITOR'S NOTE: The video above is from a previous broadcast and will be updated.Jake Soberal and Irma Olguin Jr. reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors earlier this month, but the details are just now becoming public.RELATED: One year later: The rise and fall of BitwiseIn documents filed with the court, prosecutors say Soberal and Olguin will plead guilty to two charges and pay up to $115 million in restitution.In exchange for pleading guilty, federal prosecutors say they will ask the judge to impose the lightest prison sentence allowed, but the final decision is up to the judge.RELATED: What is Bitwise? 1 killed in crash involving semi-truck in Porterville, CHP says
One man is dead following a crash in Tulare County.It happened just before 5:30 am Monday on Highway 190 at Road 208, west of Porterville.Officers say a 2020 International semi-truck hauling two trailers was heading west on Highway 190 when the driver of a GMC heading south on Road 208 went through a stop sign.The GMC hit the right side of a trailer as the truck passed the intersection.The 49-year-old man from Strathmore driving the G-M-C was pronounced dead at the scene.His two passengers were also hurt and taken to Kaweah Health.
Man shot and killed in Tulare County, deputies say
An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in Tulare County.Deputies say it happened on Avenue 327 and Road 159 in Ivanhoe at about 7:45 am Monday.When deputies arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.It is not known what led to the shooting at this time.Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.

Village Green community space opens in Clovis
A ribbon-cutting celebration was held Saturday for the new "Village Green" in Clovis.It's a new seven-acre park in the Loma Vista neighborhood.The celebration invited residents to a day of music, family activities, giveaways and a free barbecue in the park.Clovis city leaders say they wanted to create a new Southeast Urban Center that features a variety of housing, employment opportunities, recreational activities and shops.This highly anticipated space has been years in the making."We always want to serve our community and provide unique opportunities and this truly is one of those parks, that is far different from any other park in Clovis, it's one of a kind,'' said Renee Mathis, the planning and development services director for the city of Clovis.The new area offers spaces for food trucks, an amphitheater, open green space walking trails and more.Developers say they are hoping to install more playground equipment.

Father shot in the head amid family disturbance, police say
The Fresno Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a father injured on Friday night.Officers responded to an apartment building near Shaw and Backer Avenues at 11:30 pm for a family disturbance.Police say there was an altercation between a father, mother, and son who allegedly shot his father in the back of the head, grazing him.The father was taken to the hospital, and the son is detained for questioning.Police are investigating what led up to the disturbance.

1 dead after crash in east central Fresno, CHP says
A woman has died after being hit by a motorcycle in east central Fresno on Friday night.The crash happened around 9 pm in the area of Shields and Sierra Vista avenues.The California Highway Patrol initially responded to the scene, but Fresno police have taken over the investigation.Fresno police say when officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s with a broken arm near his motorcycle.While being treated, officials say the man believed he had a person on the road.Officers later found a woman in her 40s who was taken to the hospital, but she later died from her injuries.Stay with Action News for the latest updates on this developing story.

Man found dead inside of vehicle in Madera, police say
