OGDEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — An elderly man is in the hospital with severe head trauma after an electric scooter crash in Ogden Thursday afternoon, according to Ogden Police .

At around 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 15, a man, 76, was riding his personal electric scooter north on the 2200 block of Washington Blvd. in Ogden. At the same time, a woman, 33, was driving a silver SUV northbound at the same location.

The woman merged over to make a right turn onto East 22nd St., but she “failed to see the individual on the scooter,” a press release from Ogden Police states. The merge caused the man to maneuver to avoid the SUV, but the man crashed.
