ROY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — One male suspect was taken to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting on Saturday evening, according to officials.

Sgt. Josh Taylor with the Roy City Police Department told ABC4.com that officers were involved in a shooting around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. He later explained that there was no threat to the public after the incident.

Taylor said no officers were struck by any gunfire, but the suspect’s condition was not known as of about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday.

The details about the incident and what led to the shooting were not immediately disclosed, but Taylor said that information was expected to come out after the investigation.

Taylor said investigators with the Weber County Critical Incident Task Force were taking photographs and canvassing the scene on Saturday night.

Roads near the area of the incident — 5650 South and 2775 West in Roy — were expected to be closed for anywhere from one hour to three hours, Taylor said. 2800 West was also closed between 5600 South and 5650 South, according to Taylor.

Taylor said officers who were involved in the shooting incident would be put on administrative leave pending the investigation.

There is no further information at this time.
