    Friday 4: Ren Faire, live music, classic cars, and more fun this weekend

    SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Get ready for tons of music and fun this weekend! In our Friday 4, there are plenty of opportunities to see live performances and get your feet moving. And if you’re looking to watch some knights in action and travel back in time, the annual Utah Renaissance Faire is also on this weekend’s roster.

    Blue Moon Festival:

    Where: Holladay City Park

    When: Aug. 24 from 5 – 10 p.m.

    What: The grand finale of Holladay’s summer concert series is coming up this weekend, the Blue Moon Festival . The festival will include an arts market, children’s activities, music, and an array of food and drinks. Admission is free. At 6:30 p.m., Latin fusion band Senxao will take the stage. Next, will be The Great Salt Lake Yacht Club at 8 p.m., known for their soft rock and 70s and 80s sound. For more information and a list of art and food vendors, visit the Holladay Arts website.

    Grid City Music Festival:

    Where: South Salt Lake’s Creative Industries Zone, different stages between 2100 S and 3000 S along West Temple

    When: Aug. 23 – 24

    What: The Grid City Music Fest is a three-day music festival set to feature 62 murals and 54 local bands across seven different stages. The South Salt Lake Arts Council has sponsored a “free fun bus” where people can travel from stage to stage through the Creative Industries Zone to enjoy all the live acts.

    The only event you will need a ticket for will be the headliner shows at The Commonwealth Room on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday’s headliners will be The Pour , J-Rad Cooley , and The Plastic Cherries . Saturday’s will be Triggers and Slips , The Pickpockets , and Pompe ‘n Honey .     Renaissance Faire:

    Where: Mt. Nebo Botanical Farm, 3700 Old Hwy 91 in Mona

    When: Aug. 23 – 24, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    What: Get ready for a royal fun time at the Renaissance Faire this weekend. This year is the first time the fair will be at the Young Living Lavender Farm in Mona as the festival’s growth led them to look for a new venue, organizers told ABC4.com . The two-day event’s lineup includes The Knights of Mayhem , Harp Twins , Vikings of Utah , The House of Tudor royalty , and more. Tickets can be bought online.

    Utah Renaissance Faire returns for its 12th year, promises royal fun at new venue

    Wasatch Boomerfest:

    Where: Richard W. Erickson Foundation Antique & Classic Power Museum, 50 Starks Lane
    in Wallsburg

    When: Aug. 23 – 25

    Friday, Aug. 23 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

    Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

    Sunday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

    What: Get ready for a rockin’ time at this year’s Wasatch Boomer Festival , a celebration of the sights, sounds, and vibes of the Boomer Era. The three-day festival will feature live music with iconic 60s and 70s hits, classic cars, and vintage memorabilia. Tickets can be bought in advance online , with event and camping options available. Children 15 & under can attend for free.
