Dan Farr, founder and show producer of FanX, told ABC4.com that he’s known Van Dyke for decades, the two writing a Christmas book together, “Mr. Finnegan’s Giving Chest “, which was published in 2005.

“He’s definitely one we feel grateful he would be coming to our show,” Farr said.

This FanX appearance will be a return for Van Dyke, who attended the con before in 2017.

“It’s such a big deal for us to get him to come. He shows up on request lists all the time. People have been wanting to get him back again,” Farr said.

Farr said that this year’s FanX will have the convention’s biggest lineup, exceeding even last year’s which had been their largest yet by 10.

“It’s hard to not have a lot of guests at the show because there’s so many people trying to get into the show who’ve been before and want to come back. Or there’s those who heard about FanX’s reputation and how well others have been treated and want to come,” he said.

FanX this year will be on Sept. 26 – 28, giving fans the opportunity to meet and attend panels with some of their favorite stars. Pricing for photos and autographs for Van Dyke have yet to be announced, so stay tuned with FanX through their website or social media for updates.

Other guest announcements this week include voice actor Lucie Pohl known for her role as Mercy in “Overwatch” and Kaycee Stroh in the “High School Musical” franchise. FanX also announced the return of rapper Logic who previously had to cancel his apperance but will know be able to make it to the con.

There are still more guest announcements on their way, Farr teasing fans can expect to hear a name from “The Mandalorian” soon.
