SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — The Salt Lake City Police Department has arrested several people in connection to a shooting in downtown Salt Lake that injured two people last weekend.

Officers were on an unrelated call and were investigating a fight near 320 South State Street when they heard several gunshots just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 10, according to a press release from SLCPD. In the days following the shooting, police arrested three people connected to the case.

The shooting left two people injured, including a woman who was later treated by doctors and released on Aug. 10. A man was critically injured after the shooting, and SLCPD said he was still in the hospital as of Aug. 24 but was expected to survive.

However, officials did not release the name of the injured man because he was facing felony charges for “an unrelated, out-of-state matter,” according to police.

One man, 32, was arrested on Aug. 10 in Taylorsville and was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail. Police said the man was suspected of being involved in the shooting but was booked on unrelated charges. SLCPD did not release his identity.

Raymond Gallegos, 22, was arrested by officers with SLCPD’s Gang Unit on Aug. 21. He was booked on charges relating to unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon, as well as unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

“Detectives have established probable cause indicating that Gallegos was in illegal possession of a firearm during the fight near 320 South State Street,” police said in a press release.

Devin Bradley, 30, was arrested by officers from multiple agencies on Aug. 23 in Ogden. SLCPD said detectives executed a search warrant during the arrest and found weapons and drugs, along with “other potential evidence” related to the Aug. 10 shooting.

Anyone who has information — including photos or videos — related to the case has been asked to call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 24-182377. Alternatively, those with information can submit an anonymous tip via the CityProtect App.

Police determined that the incident was a “gang-related shooting,” and SLCPD’s Gang Unit was leading the investigation. SLCPD said the investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
