1 injured after shots fired at Airbnb party, officials investigating

WEBER COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — One person was injured after a fight broke out and shots were fired at a party in Weber County, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office .

According to a press release, the sheriff’s office responded to the area of 6800 South 1850 East just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. Officials received reports of shots being fired, and later learned that a fight had broken out at a party in the area.

The party was being held at an Airbnb vacation rental, and several shots were fired after the fight broke out, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office said those who were involved “immediately fled in vehicles,” but one person had checked into a local hospital with a “possible stab wound.” The man in the hospital was said to be in stable condition.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any outstanding threat to the residents of this neighborhood,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post on Saturday.

There were no other reported injuries or property damage after the incident. Weber Metro CSI responded to the scene to collect evidence, and the sheriff’s office expressed its gratitude for the other outside agencies that helped.

The sheriff’s office has asked that anyone with information or security camera footage of the incident contact the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 801-395-8221.
