    Woman identified in fatal crash on I-80 in Tooele County

    TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A woman has been identified by Utah Highway Patrol from a fatal crash that occurred earlier this week in Tooele County.

    The woman was identified as 69-year-old Sherrie Ivie of Grantsville.

    BACKGROUND INFO: UHP confirms one dead on I-80 in Tooele County

    The accident occurred near mile post 99 on Tuesday afternoon, and slowed down traffic for several hours.

    The crash resulted in one death, which was Ivie, and a critical injury to another driver, a male, 61. The male’s identity was not released by UHP.

    Ivie’s maroon Ford Explorer crossed the center line and collided head-on with a green Ford F-150, driven by the male. Ivie sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The male driver of the Ford F-150, was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

    The male’s condition is not known at this time.
