    ROAD CLOSURE: Dump truck driver killed in rollover crash in Salt Lake City

    SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — A dump truck driver was killed in a rollover crash in Salt Lake City on Friday, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

    At around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 30, a Mazda was heading westbound on I-80 at mile marker 107. The vehicle’s tire blew out, causing the car to crash into a dump truck.

    Both the Mazda and dump truck rolled into an embankment, causing a fire to spark.

    The driver of the dump truck was declared deceased at the scene. The Mazda driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

    Westbound I-80 is currently closed at mile marker 112. Estimated time of reopening is 3:45 p.m.
