SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A five-year-old was taken to the hospital after a multi-car crash on I-80 this afternoon, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. near mile marker 125, allegedly caused by a driver only identified as a teenager traveling westbound in a Toyota Highlander.

The teen allegedly made an unsafe lane change, colliding with a Ford Mustang next to him. The Mustang was carrying three occupants, which included the five-year-old. The Mustang was pushed into a Subaru car, which was pushed into a Honda Civic.

The five-year-old was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The Suburu and Civic had single occupants and neither was injured.

The left two lanes of I-80 West were closed for about an hour and are currently back open at this time.
