SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Happy Friday, Utah! It’s been another beautiful start to the day with plenty of sunshine and comfy temps.

Smoky skies have returned across portions of the Cache Valley, Uintas, and down as far south as parts of the I-80 corridor. Friday afternoon and evening will feature mostly clear skies with temps nearing 90 across the north, and near 100 down south. Most Beehive Blitz games are looking quiet and warm this evening.

Our high pressure heat dome will rebuild over the region Friday night and Saturday, bringing a surge in daytime high temps. Highs along the Wasatch Front and northern Utah will climb into the upper 80s to mid-90s, and around 100-103 across southwest Utah.

The weather is looking warm and mostly clear for the BYU home opener Saturday evening. In fact, most of the weekend will be dry for the Beehive state, but the ridge position may potentially bring some moisture back into Utah by the latter half of the Labor Day weekend.

There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in southern Utah on Saturday through Labor Day, with moisture possibly pushing into central and northern Utah Sunday and into Monday. It’s still a few days away, so make sure to stay tuned and rest assured, we will keep you #4Warned.

Bottom Line? Mainly dry, with temperatures warming above average through the weekend.
