SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Salt Lake City Police arrested a man accused of stealing a cash register from a Sugar House business on Saturday.

Brandon Redenbaugh, 30, was arrested on charges of burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, possession of burglary tools, and a Board of Pardons warrant.

At around 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 7, police received reports of a man breaking into a business in Salt Lake City’s Sugar House neighborhood, located at 1202 East Wilmington Ave.

Officers responded and learned a man — later identified as Redenbaugh — broke into a business, stole a cash register, and fled.

Police obtained a description of Redenbaugh and began searching the area. With the help of a drone operator, officers found Redenbaugh in Hidden Hollow Park and took him into custody.

Officers also recovered the cash register and cash, along with “many tools used to commit burglaries and a stun gun flashlight,” according to a press release from SLCPD.

Redenbaugh was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on the charges previously stated.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
