All clear after shots fired, Sandy elementary school placed on lockdown

SANDY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Sunrise Elementary School was placed on lockdown Friday after reports of shots fired near the school, according to Sandy City Police .

The Sandy elementary school has been given the “all clear” after reports of multiple rounds being fired east of the school.

Police learned that the shots were fired from a resident in a nearby neighborhood who was allegedly trying to break up a dog fight inside their house.

The school is no longer in lockdown. Sandy City Police are still investigating the incident.
