Police investigated the crash and spoke to multiple witnesses, according to the probable cause statement. Witnesses reportedly told police that the occupants of the truck and Tuiloli were involved in a road rage incident near 4400 West and State Street.

Just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 14, authorities responded to reports of a vehicle rollover on S.R. 9 at mile marker six. When first responders arrived on scene, officers saw a truck with two occupants.

“One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle. The patient that was ejected from the vehicle was transported to St. George Regional Hospital with critical injuries,” Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue said on Facebook .

Police have not identified the two occupants of the truck.

Tuiloli returned to the scene after being told to do so by his wife, according to documents. He was arrested at the scene.

Police say the crash “was caused by [Tuiloli] operating [a vehicle] in willful or wanton disregard for the safety” of occupants of other vehicles around him.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
