SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A man accused of stalking women near the University of Utah is now facing formal charges in two separate cases, according to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.

Oluwatobi Oludaisi Shokunbi, 34, who is still at-large, was indicted in the Third District Court. Shokunbi was indicted Thursday on one count of criminal trespassing (dwelling) and one count of lewdness — first or second offense. Both charges are listed as misdemeanors, according to indictment documents.

Charging documents state that Shokunbi reportedly followed women into university housing as well as other secured buildings at the University of Utah.

Shokunbi is also accused of threatening a woman at the University of Utah Hospital.

“The Defendant has put multiple female victims in fear for their safety and security within a very short time frame and is escalating in his behavior. All the victims involved are young women who have been victimized in their homes or in other secured areas in which they have a right and expectation of protection,” arresting documents stated.

Documents from his Sept. 17 arrest said Shokunbi has no affiliation with the university and had returned to the campus after being served a formal trespass.

As of yesterday’s U of U safety alert, Shokunbi is still at large.

People around the university have been told to call 801-585-2677 if Shokunbi is seen in the area.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
