TAYLORSVILLE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A Utah man was arrested on Wednesday after he shot through a car window because he thought the driver was going too slow, according to Taylorsville Police.

Capone Hovietz Dickson, 38, is facing one charge of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury — road rage (second-degree felony).

At around 8 a.m. on Sept. 12, police responded to a road rage incident in which a man fired a round through another driver’s windshield after stopping at the 5700 block of South Canal Road. Dickson was reportedly angry that the other driver was going too slow, and the two began arguing at that location.

The victim said he was standing outside, getting back into his car, when Dickson aimed a handgun at him and fired one shot through his window. Dickson reportedly then fled in his white Nissan van.

The victim chased Dickson to a Walmart at 5400 South Redwood Road, where security cameras recorded the van’s license plate number, police said. Police found multiple phone numbers for Dickson and left messages asking for Dickson to return the calls, but he did not, police said.

On Sept. 18, police found Dickson leaving his apartment in his van. The officer stopped Dickson, who then demanded to know why he was stopped and claimed that he had just been defending himself regarding the incident.

During the investigation, police said Dickson’s apartment manager claimed that Dickson is violent, threatening, and no longer allowed to talk to them in person because of threats Dickson has made.

Dickson was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on the charges previously stated.

No further information is available at this time.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

My opinion is take away their drivers license when they are convicted of road rage incidents.
