FIRE START: ‘Dead Cow Point Fire’ kicks up in Tooele County

UPDATE 8:04 p.m. — The Dead Cow Point Fire was said to be fully contained at a size of 25.9 acres, according to Utah Fire Info.

“Thanks to the quick response by firefighters, the fire was successfully 100% contained,” Utah Fire Info said in an update on social media .

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A new wildfire dubbed the “Dead Cow Point Fire” has sparked in Tooele County, according to Utah Fire Info.

The blaze is located on private land, officials said, five miles southwest of Rowley restricted area.

The wildfire is currently estimated at 20 acres.

Fire personnel expect to have the wildfire contained by later this evening, Sept. 22.

A cause has not been listed at this time.
