LEHI, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Lehi Police received a report of a mountain lion spotted near Fox Hollow Elementary School in Lehi on Thursday.

School administrators at Fox Hollow said they will be keeping students inside the building for the remainder of the day.

Why is Utah so obsessed with ‘dirty sodas?’ It may be traced back to LDS health guidelines

“Fox Hollow Families: This morning, the Lehi Police Department notified us that they had received a report of a mountain lion in the field west of our school. We immediately pulled students inside the building and placed our school in a ‘Secure’ status. This means students will remain inside the building for recesses and PE,” a letter from Fox Hollow Elementary states.

School activities will continue as normal, administrators said.

“We also wanted to make you aware of this current situation as many of you have students that walk home from school,” the letter states. “Thank you for trusting us with your child’s safety. Their safety is our top priority.”

Law enforcement reportedly has not found the mountain lion and cannot confirm the sighting at this time.

This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available.
