SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — The hot streak looks to continue for the Beehive State to wrap up the upcoming workweek.

An area of low pressure is moving from the Pacific Northwest into Canada, which has slightly lowered our afternoon temps across the north. The stubborn heat dome will stay anchored in place through the weekend, bringing more days in the 90s for Salt Lake and triple digits in lower Washington County.

We close out the month on Monday — the latest 90 degree reading for Salt Lake on record is September 30th, and the latest 100 degree day on record for St. George is September 29th. We will be very close to tying that record in southern Utah.

Next week, we will see a weak front move through that will provide potentially a slight drop in the temps by the middle of next week. This front will move through on the dry side, so no chance for any rain events in the near future. Great weather if you want to get out to some of the slot canyons this weekend.
