Woman dead, child hospitalized after Davis County pursuit ends in rollover crash

UPDATE 9/30 — Officials have released the name of the woman who died in the crash on Sept. 29.

Emma Gordhammer, 25, was identified as the driver of the vehicle that rolled after a high-speed pursuit on I-15.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A woman is dead and a child in the hospital after a vehicle pursuit ended in a rollover crash and two people ejected in Davis County on Sunday, according to the Utah Dept. of Public Safety.

On Sept. 29, Utah Highway Patrol troopers intercepted an “attempt to locate” on a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed from Salt Lake County into Davis County.

Troopers pursued on I-15, but the driver failed to stop and took an exit at milepost 332. When the driver took the exit, troopers reportedly stopped pursuing.

After getting on the off-ramp, the vehicle crashed and rolled, ejecting the two people inside, police said.

The female driver was pronounced dead on scene. Troopers gave life-saving aid to a child before medical personnel could take them to the hospital.

The condition of the child has not been released at this time.
