    Taylorsville officer shoots, kills man in stolen vehicle

    Update, 4:47 p.m.:

    TAYLORSVILLE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — The individual killed in an officer-involved shooting in Taylorsville Wednesday night has been identified.

    The deceased is identified as Henry Chavez, Jr., 28, according to Taylorsville Police.

    No further information is available at this time.

    TAYLORSVILLE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — One man is dead after a police shooting in Taylorsville on Wednesday, according to Taylorsville Police.

    The deceased individual is described as a 28-year-old Hispanic man, according to Lt. Aaron Cheshire, Taylorsville Police. His identity has not been released at this time.

    At around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 9, a suspect was driving a stolen vehicle in the Taylorsville-Murray area. Salt Lake City Police reportedly tried to make a traffic stop and the man fled.

    Police followed the suspect into the area of 4500 South Atherton Drive. At this point, officers, with the help of a Dept. of Public Safety helicopter, stopped the car in a parking lot in the area of 3900 South 300 West.

    An altercation then ensued, police said, and an officer fired multiple shots while the suspect was still inside the vehicle. The man was declared deceased on scene. A female was also present in the car at the time.

    Unified Police investigators will lead the investigation into this incident.

    I usually back the blue..BUT WHAT THE FK!!!. Not even an high speed chase...no conversation of dude coming out of car with a gun.. ITS A FKING STOLEN CAR. Obviously there more to story...if not...just suing and firing the leo..WONT BE ENOUGH.
