“We are working with DWR Division of Wildlife Resources to locate the Mountain Lion. Please use caution when out and about and watch your pets and children closely,” police wrote.

What to do if you come face-to-face with a cougar. First, don’t run

Spanish Fork Police are asking that anyone who may have more information contact them at 801-804-4700.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has stated if you do see a cougar face-to-face , it’s best to not run. Rather, you should stand up tall and talk loudly. They also recommend backing away slowly while keeping eye contact. If you have children or a pet, DWR said to hold them close.
