Car, garage ‘fully involved’ in smoke and flame in Weber County house fire

OGDEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Fire officials were called out to a Marriott-Slaterville home in Weber County early Friday morning after its garage became fully engulfed in flames.

The Weber Fire District said the call came in around 3 a.m. By the time crews arrived, the garage of a single-story home and a car were “fully involved with heavy smoke and flames.”

Officials from Weber Fire alongside Ogden City Fire, Roy City Fire, and Hill Air Force Base were able to contain the massive fire to the garage with only a minor extension into the home’s attic. Weber Fire said all occupants inside the home were able to safely exit and no injuries to humans or animals were reported.

The Weber Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office has taken over the scene and is conducting an ongoing investigation into what may have sparked the fire.

Officials estimate the home suffered about $100,000 in damages. No further details were made immediately available.
