    Search and rescue operation underway to evacuate recreationists near Yellow Lake Fire

    SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Search and rescue units are heading to evacuate recreationists on the north side of Mirror Lake Highway due to the Yellow Lake Fire , according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

    The recreationists are reportedly located between Yellow Pine and the Highline Trial.

    New closures are now in effect on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests, Heber-Kamas Ranger District and the Ashley National Forest, and the Duchesne/Roosevelt Ranger District due to the blaze.

    This reportedly includes the north side of Mirror Lake Highway in Summit County from Yellow Pine to the Highline Trail, north to Smith-Morehouse and Gardners Fork at the top of Weber Canyon.
