11-year-old girl dies after falling into Tooele County pond

TERRA, Utah ( ABC4 ) — An 11-year-old girl died after falling into a pond in Terra, Utah, on Saturday, according to the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office .

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, police received a 911 call regarding a girl who fell into a pond in Terra.

The girl was reportedly with another child at the time, and the other child ran to a nearby home for help. A father and his young boy at the home ran to the pond and retrieved the girl from the water.

The father did CPR until first responders could arrive and take over. The girl was pronounced dead on scene.

This death remains under investigation.
