    Human-caused ‘Cherry Creek Fire’ burns 1K acres in a few hours

    Update, 8:36 p.m.:

    JUAB COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — The Cherry Creek Fire was estimated to have burned about 1,000 acres as of Sunday night — doubling in size since the last update from officials.

    As of about 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, Utah Fire Info said no containment had been reported for the Cherry Creek Fire.

    “Resources have been able to stop forward progress, and the fire was kept out of Tooele Co.,” officials said in a Sunday night update.

    There were no road closures in effect as of Sunday night, and resources were “burning off a dozer line to complete a tie-in on the north end,” officials said.

    JUAB COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — The Cherry Creek Fire in Juab County is now estimated to be over 500 acres.

    The blaze is located about three miles from Lofgreen, Tooele County.

    Original Story: Human-caused ‘Cherry Creek Fire’ kicks up in Juab County

    JUAB COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A new fire has erupted in Juab County, according to Utah Fire Info.

    The “Cherry Creek Fire” is currently burning on Bureau of Land Management land in Juab County. It is sized at around 100 acres and growing, officials said.

    The fire is reportedly human-caused. Officials are investigating the matter at this time.
