Man shot 3 times in Springville, ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect at large

SPRINGVILLE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly fled the scene after shooting a man three times in Springville on Sunday evening, according to officials.

“The suspect is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous,” the Springville Police Department said in a Sunday press release.

Police said the suspect is about 5’6″ tall and was wearing dark blue jeans, a black hoodie, a black beanie cap, and red high-top tennis shoes. The suspect reportedly ran away from the scene on foot before getting on a motorcycle and leaving the area.

After receiving a report of a shooting, Springville Police were dispatched to the scene just before 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 13. The victim, identified only as a 35-year-old man, was shot three times, according to officials.

He was treated at the scene by Springville EMS before he was taken to an area hospital for further treatment of his injuries. He is expected to recover after undergoing surgery, police said.

Police said it was not yet known if the incident was targeted or if it was “a random act of violence.” The investigation is currently active and officials are interviewing witnesses and processing the scene.
