Jefferson CC to inaugurate Daniel Dupee as president later this week

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Jefferson Community College will inaugurate Daniel Dupee as the college’s seventh president in school history on Friday, March 15.

The ceremony will be held at the Sturtz Theater at 2 p.m. The SUNY Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Dupee as President of Jefferson Community College in June 2023. The inauguration was originally planned for October, but the City of Watertown’s water emergency postponed the event.

Some the highlights will include:

• Dr. Dupee’s inaugural address announcing his initiatives for the College
• SUNY Chancellor Dr. John B. King Jr. will present President Dupee with a medallion engraved “Celebrating Our Legacy, Building the Future Together” in honor of the College’s 62-year history
• Fort Drum 10th Mountain Division Task Force Golden Dragons will Post and Retire the Colors
• Soloist SGT Delany McCarthy will sing the National Anthem
• Greetings from student body, faculty/staff, JCC Foundation, area schools, U.S. Army, President Emerita, Board of Legislators, Board of Trustees, and SUNY
• Special music will be provided by JCC students Emmanuel Garrick and Zachary Smith

Dupee served as Jefferson’s Administrator-in-Charge since June 2022 and, prior to that appointment, he was the College’s Executive Vice President of Administration, Finance and Enrollment Services.
