DEC to host St. Lawrence County youth turkey hunt in April

CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – The New York State Department of Conservation will host a youth turkey hunt on Saturday, April 20.

The event offers youth ages 12 through 15 the opportunity to hunt turkey this spring.  The annual hunt with Environmental Conservation Officers is a two-day event that starts with an educational portion at the Massena Rod and Gun Club.

There will be an educational day at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13 with hunting the next week.

To participate, youth hunters must possess a New York State small game license and valid turkey tags. The event is free to participants and equipment will be provided if necessary.
