Gretchen Monnat named new Sherman Elementary School principal starting July 1

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Watertown’s Sherman Elementary School will have a new principal on July 1.

In a press release from the Watertown City School District, the district appointed Gretchen Monnat as the new Principal of Sherman Elementary School effective July 1.

She is a north country native as Monnat spent much of her career in Lewis County, most notably at Beaver River. Her recent tenure as Assistant Principal at Calcium Primary School in the Indian River School District.

I am very excited to be joining the Watertown City School District as the Principal at Sherman Elementary School! I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue this journey at Sherman Elementary and to be a part of such a dynamic educational community.
