    Thousand Islands Bridge Authority Scholarship is Now Open

    Applications must be completed on the NNYCF’s scholarship portal by Saturday, June 1 .

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The Northern New York Community Foundation Russell I. Wilcox Thousand Islands Bridge Authority Scholarship is open until Saturday, June 1, for Students with family ties to the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority.

    Current full-time Thousand Islands Bridge Authority employees, retirees and their children and grandchildren are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which is available to U.S. and Canadian residents who can prove a family tie to the Bridge Authority.

    The scholarship is a $1,000 award given out every year to two students pursuing any accredited post-secondary educational program, including a two- or four-year college, technical, trade or vocational school.

    We are very grateful for all Mr. Wilcox has done to provide this unique opportunity to those who are part of the Bridge Authority family ,” said Rande S. Richardson, Community Foundation executive director. “ We hope all who are eligible will apply so we can best fulfill the donor’s desire to extend his interest in those affiliated in this way ,”

    A longtime leader of the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority, Wilcox established the permanent scholarship at the NNYCF in 2022 as an extension of his life’s work, service on behalf of the Bridge Authority and in honor of his relationship with Bridge Authority board members and employees.
