JCC names 2 athletes of the Week April 8-13, 2024

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Jefferson Community College’s athlete of the Week is a two for one special for the Week Ending April 13, 2024, as both Freshman right-handed pitcher, Easton K. Martin and  sophomore infielder, Hailey R. McGrew share the title.

Martin, a 2023 graduate of Gallatin High School, Bozeman, Montana, is majoring in Humanities and Social Sciences at JCC.

Martin’s accomplishments on the mound this past week included pitching a complete game shutout in JCC Baseball’s 5-0 win over Mohawk Valley Community College.  Easton pitched all 7 innings with 81 pitches. He struck out 4 batters, only allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and no runs.

McGrew , a 2022 graduate of Sandy Creek High School, is majoring in Childhood Education at JCC.

McGrew’s accomplishments at the plate this past week included having a batting average of .667 in 4 games as well as tallying 4 RBIs and a 5-5 day against Tompkins Cortland. She also reached base safely at a .727 percentage. She also currently leads the team in batting average (.550) and is third in RBIs (8).

The Cannoneers’ next game will be on Tuesday, April 23 at 3 p.m. at Finger Lakes Community College.
