Sandy Creek gets top seed in Section 3 Class C softball bracket

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The Sandy Creek softball team got the top spot in the Section 3 Class C bracket that was released on Sunday.

Sandy Creek will face the winner of No. 16 Morrisville-Eaton and No. 17 Frankfort-Schuyler in the first-round proper. Thousand Islands is the fifth seed and hosts Frontier League rival and No. 12 Beaver River in a first-round game on Tuesday. Eighth-seeded South Lewis hosts No. 9 Weedsport in a Tuesday first-round game.

Watertown is the No. 10 seed in Class AA and travels to seventh-seeded Central Square in a first-round matchup. Whitesboro is the number one seed in the bracket.

In Class A, South Jefferson is the number six seed and goes to third-seeded Chittenango for a quarterfinal game slated for Thursday. Camden has the number one seed in Class B.

Class B has eighth-seeded Lowville hosting No. 9 seed and returning Sectional finalist Skaneateles in a first-round game. General Brown is the No. 13 seed and heads to fourth-seed Herkimer for a Tuesday first-round game. Utica Notre Dame owns top seed in the Class C tournament.

In Class D, Sackets Harbor is seeded sixth and hosts Frontier League rival and No. 11 seed Copenhagen. Belleville Henderson is the No. 7 seed and entertains No. 10 LaFargeville in another all-Frontier League encounter. Lyme is the eighth seed and hosts No. 9 Brookfield while No. 12 Alexandria goes to fifth-seeded Oriskany. Cincinnatus is the number one team in the class this tournament.

First-round proper games begin on Tuesday while opening-round games in Class C start today.
