Indian River, South Jefferson receive top seeds in Section 3 girls lacrosse tournaments

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Both Indian River and South Jefferson earned the top seed in their respective Section 3 girls lacrosse brackets during Sunday’s reveal.

Indian River is top seed in Class C and will host the winner of eighth-seeded Whitesboro and No. 9 Chittenango in a Tuesday quarterfinal game. Carthage is number four and hosts fifth-seeded Oswego in another quarterfinal game.

South Jefferson has the top spot in Class D and hosts the winner of No. 8 Cazenovia and ninth-seeded Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in a Tuesday quarterfinal. General Brown is the five seed and travels to fourth-seeded Marcellus in quarterfinal play. Immaculate Heart is the No. 11 seed and goes to sixth-seeded Homer for a first-round game on Monday.

Watertown is the second seed in Class B and awaits the winner of third-seeded Fayetteville-Manlius and No. 6 Central Square. WHS will host the semifinal game on Thursday.

All sectional finals will be hosted on Tuesday, May 28 at SUNY Cortland.
