    Heat advisory in effect for St. Lawrence County today

    ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. (WWTI) – The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for St. Lawrence County for Friday, August 2.

    The alert was issued on Thursday afternoon and includes parts of Franklin, Essex and Clinton counties. The advisory will last from noon today until 8 p.m. Friday.

    How to keep your pets safe in the heat

    Air temperatures will reach into the 80s with heat index values in the going into the mid 90s expected.

    Hot temperatures and high humidity could cause heat illnesses like heat stroke.

    Places like Gouverneur, Massena, Malone, Potsdam and Plattsburgh are in cities that are in the advisory area.
