A Severe Thunderstorm Warning now in effect for Northeastern Jefferson County, Lewis County and East central Oswego County that will last until 5:15 p.m.

Some of these winds could get as high as 60 miles per hour. Places like Carthage, Lowville, West Carthage, Herrings, Highmarket, Whetstone Gulf State Park, Denmark, New Bremen, Watson, and Martinsburg could be in the path of the storm.

Some of these rains could cause flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

According to the NWS, over an inch of rain has fallen with another one to three inches possible.

A number of locations like Watertown, Fort Drum, Stony Point, Carthage, Lowville, West Carthage, Clayton, Redwood, Henderson Harbor and other locations fall under the warning.

The Wind Advisory is for the Eastern Lake Ontario Region especially the Tug Hill and is expected to last until 8 p.m. tonight.

Winds could go 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 mph. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Impacts with these wind speeds may be greater than normal due to the abnormal wind direction and leaves on trees.
