TOWN OF GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – You ask, we answer, State Fair edition!

The Your Stories Team has received several questions about New York State Fair admission costs, the price to park and special days that allow certain groups to get into the Fair for free.

Recently, the NYS Fair released 34 of its most recently asked questions. No surprise, they overlap with many of the questions the YS Team is asked by our viewers.

Let’s answer this one today: Will the Fair offer a $1 ticket day?

Fair officials say no $1 admission day. Despite ticket costs rising to $8 (plus fees) for this year’s Fair, officials say it still remains the most affordable state fair admission price in the nation.

In addition to the special days, the Fair is free for kids 12 and younger and for those 65 and older.

Free admission for seniors 65 and older started in 2021. Prior to that year, the Fair offered seniors free admission only on certain days.
