    St. Lawrence County man arrested after police chase ends in crash

    MORRISTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 28-year-old Potsdam man is facing charges after a Wednesday police pursuit ended with a crash involving him and a police officer.

    New York State Police stated that Kody LaRock crashed into the Ogdensburg police SUV with an alleged stolen Wednesday on State Route 37 in the Town of Morristown.

    LaRock allegedly collided into the police vehicle while trying to avoid a tire-deflation device.

    The alleged incident started just before 11:40 a.m. when State Police Troopers and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a failure to comply with a stolen vehicle on State Highway 58 in the town of Morristown.

    The multiple agencies were in pursuit of a tan 2012 Chevrolet vehicle that traveled down numerous roadways. This chase lasted around 26 minutes and traveled nearly 30 miles according to authorities.

    LaRock is facing multiple charges including second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.

    He was taken into custody and transported to the state police headquarters in Ogdensburg for further questioning after the pursuit was ended. LaRock was medically evaluated by Ogdensburg Rescue while at the state police barracks.

    The Ogdensburg Police officer was transported to Claxton Hepburn Medical Center for further evaluation.

    LaRock was arraigned in the Town of Morristown Court where he was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.

    State troopers were assisted by  St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Ogdensburg Police Department, and local fire and rescue departments.
