SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Taste of Brooklyn Sports Bar in the Valley Plaza in Syracuse is being shut down by the city’s code enforcement.

A notice from the Division of Code Enforcement stated that the bar constituted an “immediate danger to the health, safety and welfare of the occupants and the public.” Code enforcement then ordered that the bar be shut down and vacated by 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

The area outside of the bar was the site of two deadly shootings this summer, with the first one claiming the life of a 30-year-old man on June 16. The second deadly shooting happened on Tuesday, August 13, as a 13-year-old allegedly shot and killed a 25-year-old man.

A stabbing also happened on June 8, the letter stated.

The letter also stated that Taste of Brooklyn’s permit allowed the bar to operate until 10 p.m., but many of these incidents happened after 10 p.m., and that Taste of Brooklyn advertised events on its Facebook page ending after 10 p.m.

I wonder how much the 13 year old had to drink before shooting the bars actual customer? shouldn't code enforcement be shutting down all the businesses in that plaza? the people were killed in the parking lot not inside the bar.
